A massive game in Wales as Wrexham faced Boreham Wood at the Racecourse Ground. Wrexham started the day above Boreham Wood and feeling confident. Boreham Wood are coming off of the back of a 2-0 loss to Everton but will be hopeful but tired.
They both started the game well but Wrexham were slightly better. About 15 minutes in the first goal went in. It was a brilliant flick on header from Ollie Palmer who got on the end of a great cross and nodded in giving Wrexham a big lead. Boreham Wood didn't give up after going behind as they became level with just over 5 minutes until half time. Scott Boden equalised for Boreham Wood meant the two teams went in level at half time. In the second half Wrexham came out the better and looked as if they could go in front again. This then became a reality when Aaron Hayden scored for Wrexham on the hour mark putting the ball in Ashby Hammond's net. This one goal lead was soon a two goal lead. James Jones made it 3-1 for Wrexham hitting home to give a 2 goal advantage. This was yet again short lived as Boreham Wood's Tyrone Marsh pulled one back instantly to give the Wood a lifeline. Again this was short Lived as Wrexham then restored their two goal lead only two minutes later thanks to another goal from in form striker Paul Mullin. There had been 3 goals in 4 minutes in a hectic game at the Racecourse ground. Wrexham ran out 4-2 winners.
Wrexham moved up to third on 61 points. They are now one point off of Chesterfield and have played one game less than them. Boreham Wood move down to 5th and are now at risk of dropping out of the play-offs.
