Wrexham annihilate Aldershot - Wrexham 4-1 Aldershot Town

Zac Neal

Wrexham faced Aldershot at the Racecourse Ground. Wrexham need a big win to keep up to scratch with the other sides such as Halifax Town, Solihull Moors, Notts County and Boreham Wood. Aldershot sat 20th 9 away from Weymouth in 21st.

Wrexham with the biggest budget in the league and Aldershot with one of the smallest this was only going to go one way realistically. Not much happened in the first half but not much happened at all. Ollie Palmer came close a few times and Mullin too. They got so close and finally a goal came for Wrexham in the 35th minute and it was Paul Mullin on his return who scored a real striker's finish to put Wrexham ahead. At half time Wrexham went in 1-0 ahead. The game restarted and Wrexham made it two only a few minutes into the second half and Jordan Davies got the goal.It was an absolute scorcher from a good 25 yards out firing into the top corner sending the doubling their advantage. Ollie Palmer made it 3-0 with a much deserved goal for the forward and he finishes calmly for Wrexham's third of the day. It was 4-0 when Paul Mullin grabbed a second with a cool finish from a one on one. Aldershot pulled one back in the 92nd minute with a mere consolation goal from Glen Phillips to give Aldershot something to shout about.

Wrexham moved forward to 4th placed and only sit 3 points off of 2nd placed Chesterfield. They are now 4 points of off Bromley who are 8th just outside of play-offs. Aldershot stay 20th and 9 off of Weymouth.
