Unlucky Shefford lose out against Luton Town Dev - Shefford Town & Campton 1-2 Luton Town Dev

It was time for a massive game at Shefford Sports Club as the Luton Town development faced Shefford in the Beds Senior Cup. Shefford were expecting a tricky match but a winnable one.

The game got off to a bad start for the Sheep as Luton took the lead. This was after Luton attacked down the wing and the ball was crossed in to Josh Allen who tucked it home to put the Hatters ahead.

Luton kept this up and it didn't take long until they scored a second. This was after another low cross but this time by Josh Williams, this cross found Millar Matthews-Lewis who easily finished past Kyle Forster.

Shefford could have got one back around thirty minutes in when the ball found Henry Snee on the right side of the box. He shot got past goalkeeper Jameson Horlick and rebound off the post, across goal, and wide.

It was a tough start to the match for Shefford who were really under the cosh for a lot of the first half. Casey Pettit and Tyrelle Newton were causing havoc in the midfield giving Shefford a tough time. The half time score was 0-2.

Shefford were much better in the second half and they got the goal they deserved with thirty minutes to go. This was after a scramble on the goal line and the ball found Sam King who crossed it in to Henry Snee who headed in to get Shefford back in the game.

Shefford should've got an equaliser in the closing stages of the game as they had multiple chances to do so. Luton defended very well with multiple goal-line clearances and saves by Jameson Horlick. Luton held on and won the match 1-2.

An unlucky defeat for Shefford who fought until the end against a very strong Luton Town development side. Luton advance to the next round where they will play either Biggleswade Town or Biggleswade FC.
