Shefford Town & Campton clash with Stotfold in the Beds Senior Trophy final at Sharpenhoe Road. Shefford beat local rivals Langford by default after they fielded an ineligible player. Stotfold thrashed Queens Park Crescents in their semi-final as they won 0-5.
It's a huge game for both teams. I have been to some recent games of both sides and I can analyse how this one might go. I was in attendance for this fixture when they met in the league earlier this season. It resulted in a 1-1 draw at Shefford Sports Club. Stotfold took the lead thanks to Codi-Lee Spavins but Henry Snee equalised from the spot. Henry Snee has been injured for a while and it will make an impact on Shefford whether he is available or not. I also watched Stotfold play Ampthill Town a few weeks ago. Stotfold won 2-1 and played well. Both teams are evenly matched and are attacking minded. Stotfold gain creativity from midfield and in particular Devonte Simms because he creates many chances. Shefford mainly create opportunities from the wings Jonny McNamara is the main source of this. He is top scorer in the division and is probably the biggest threat to Stotfold. Ashley Ingham and Scott Metcalfe both also cause a lot of danger for opposition defences with their pace and finishing abilities. Stotfold recently beat Wellingborough Whitworth 4-1 in a crazy game at the JSJ Stadium. There were four red cards in the game and 3 of which were for Wellingborough Whitworth. They also had a sin-bin and therefore ended the game with 7 men. Shefford beat fellow promotion rivals Winslow United 0-1 away thanks to a first half Jonny McNamara penalty.
Both teams will be well up for this as they meet again at the JSJ Stadium stadium in a few weeks in the league. This is a huge match for both sides and try to get down and watch!
