Shefford blown away by brilliant Stotfold - Shefford Town & Campton 0-4 Stotfold

Stotfold ran out 0-4 winners over Shefford Town & Campton in a very strong Stotfold performance. The wind played a massive part in the game and the cup was up for grabs.

Stotfold started brilliantly and put Shefford under immediate pressure. This was soon rewarded. Stotfold took the lead early on thanks to Ashley Kersey who tapped in from close range after a tricky shot was parried away by Reece Lewis and it fell to Kersey who tapped home. Stotfold soon got a second after a mix up at the back for Shefford. A long ball was played through and Shefford failed to deal with it as it fell to Codi-Lee Spavins who volleyed it past Reece Lewis to make it 0-2. The pressure from Stotfold kept coming but they failed to convert any of these good chances. They got their 3rd just before half time and deservedly so. Kade Bagge scored after a nice low ball across the box fell to Kade Bagge and Shefford couldn't block his effort as he tapped home for 0-3. Shefford needed a big talking to at half time as they trailed 0-3. Things improved in the second half as they started playing fairly well. They didn't have any real clear-cut chances as they looked to get back into it. The forwards got into some good spaces but no real chances followed. Stotfold kept their pressure up and looked comfortable. They kept going until the end and were awarded a penalty after a Stotfold player was taken down in the box. The substitute Luke Smith stepped up and thumped it into the top corner to add insult to injury for Shefford. The game finished in a 0-4 win for Stotfold.

An emphatic and deserved win for Stotfold and congratulations for winning the cup!
