Grantham pull off incredible late comeback - Grantham Town 4-3 Ashton United

Game of the season? Grantham faced Ashton United in the Northern Premier League. Grantham Town started the game bottom of the league and Ashton United just above the relegation zone. Neither side have had a great season and it was all set for a big game in Grantham.

Grantham took the lead through Ricky Miller 5 minutes in where he fired in an effort from outside the area. Ashton United equalised in the 17th minute when Cole Lonsdale scored for the away team. Ashton then took the lead through Florian Yonsian with a big goal for United. The second half began and in the 61st minute it was 1-3 when Nathan Ntalu smashed one home for 1-3. The game looked all but lost for Grantham in the 83rd minute being 1-3 down but Grantham were then awarded a penalty. Ricky Miller converted then the momentum swung the other way. In the 89th minute Grantham dramatically won a late penalty yet again Ricky Miller then equalised in the 91st minute to grab a point and complete his hat-trick. Unbelievably, there was one last attack for Grantham and the ball got to the star man Ricky Miller who fired the ball into the top corner sending the Grantham faithful into pandemonium in the last minute. Probably one of the best games there will be this season and possibly the most dramatic finished I've seen.
