Gateshead go marching on - Gateshead 4-0 Kidderminster Harriers

A colossal game in the National League North awaited Gateshead and Kidderminster Harriers in Gateshead. Gateshead sat 1st in the league needing to out-pace Brackley Town and Kidderminster. Kidderminster sat 8 points behind Gateshead and really needed to bounce back after last week's loss to Farsley Celtic.

The game began and Gateshead were the classier of the two sides. They got close multiple times and also hit the post. They were definitely playing like a team top of the league. It only took 20 minutes for the first goal to be scored and it was that man Macauley Langstaff who added another to his tally with a cute finish. They kept going and with 5 minutes of the second half to go they doubled their lead. Greg Olley squeezed it over the line for Gateshead to give them another reward for their fantastic performance. Kidderminster went in shocked and 2-0 down. They needed a serious team talk at half time to help them get back from this. Only ten minutes into the second half Macauley Langstaff scored his second of the game and his 19th of the season thanks to a strong finish punishing Kiddy and really taking advantage over Brackley. Taylor Charters was clean through for Gateshead and punished Kiddy for another mistake by scoring Gateshead's 4th of the afternoon. Many chances kept coming but Gateshead failed to convert anymore and they had to settle for a 4-0 win.

Gateshead stayed top and now 6 points clear of Brackley Town playing two games more. Brackley Town had dropped 2 points away to Southport following a 0-0 draw. Kiddy sit 3rd and look as if their title charge is well and truly over and just need to confirm play-offs.
