Well a big week lies ahead in Non-League. Promotion hunters got toe-to-toe, relegation 6-pointers and plenty of derbies. Have a look at our selected games to watch out for this weekend and which game are you going to?
Chesterfield vs Southend United
Feel like Chesterfield are on this every week. I guess every game for them is a huge one in the league table. Chesterfield have been on a bit of a blip lately as they lost to Solihull Moors and Wrexham but have picked up wins in their last two games against Yeovil Town and Notts County. Southend haven't been on bad form themselves lately. They have won 3 out of their last 5 and are unbeaten in their last 11 games. I predict a 0-1 Southend win.
Maidenhead United vs Altrincham
Another big game at York Road but this will be a tough one. Maidenhead have been on up and down form but do have a history of wimnning big games at home this season. Maidenhead are coming off the back of a 3-0 loss to Dagenham & Redbridge but did beat King's Lynn 1-4 prior to that game. Altrincham are coming off the back of a 3-0 win over Dagenham & Redbridge ironically but have also beaten King's Lynn lately too funnily enough. I predict a 1-1 draw.
Notts County vs Yeovil Town
Notts County play Yeovil Town at Meadow Lane in a tough game. County had been on fine form as of late making a late play-off push and looking likely to get play-offs but lost 3-1 to Chesterfield last week. Elisha Sam has been on great form too. Yeovil have been collapsing a bit lately and have been very low scoring only scoring 2 goals in their last 5. I predict a 3-0 Notts County win with a Elisha Sam double.
Chester vs Chorley
Big game in Chester as Chorley visit in their bid for play-offs. Chester currently sit 17th looking just about safe from relegation. They have been on a shocking run lately in the turn of the year. They have lost 7/10 and their only win was a 5-0 win over Southport. They have lost their last 4. Chorley haven't been great lately either but have been free scoring. I predict a 1-3 Chorley win.
Gateshead vs Kidderminster Harriers *STAR GAME*
This is definitely the game of the week in my opinion as Kidderminster go away to Gateshead in game which could decide both teams season. Gateshead are currently 1st and 4 points ahead of Brackley Town in 2nd. Kiddy are 8 points behind Gateshead having played 2 games less. This is a must win game as far as both teams are concerned but Kiddy in particular. Gateshead have been free scoring and on a great run and so were Kiddy until last week. I predict a 1-1 draw,
Hereford vs York City
A big game in the National League North here too as 7th placed York City play 8th placed York City. York have been on spotless form lately winning 5/5 and looking to continue run against strong Hereford side. Hereford have had more patchy form but will still be feeling confident going into the game. I predict a 0-2 York City win.
Southport vs Brackley Town
Brackley will have one eye on this game and another on the Gateshead vs Kiddy game. Brackley look on course for the title but are up against a stubborn Southport side. Southport are currently 5th and have been on average form lately. Brackley have been on fine form and sit 2nd ready to pounce on any Gateshead mistakes. I predict a 2-1 Southport win with a late winner.
Billericay Town vs Welling United
A big relegation battle at the foot of the National League South. Billericay host Welling in a massive game for the Essex side. It is 21st placed Billericay against 20th placed Welling United. Billericay have been ok lately and have recently beaten Dulwich Hamlet. Welling have been on poor form too losing to Hemel Hempstead being the latest. I predict a 3-2 Billericay win.
Dartford vs Dorking Wanderers
Dartford are host to table-toppers Dorking Wanderers. Dartford are currently 4th in the table and they have been playing fairly well lately picking up quite a lot of wins. Dorking Wanderers have been second to none lately in the run-in and look hopeful to pick up a great win against a strong Dartford team. I predict a 1-2 Dorking win.
