Dunstable Town vs Lincoln City match preview!

League One Lincoln City travel to Creasey Park to face off against Dunstable Town in a pre-season friendly.

Dunstable Town have been busy lately. They signed Tolu Ikuyinminu from Buckingham Athletic after he scored 12 goals for 'the Ath' last season. They have also signed Joe Deeney from MK Irish. Dunstable Town also beat Hertford Town 3-1 in the Aaron Bateman Memorial Trophy in their most recent pre-season game. They will be feeling quite confident ahead of this game as they are in good form but they must remember that the opposition will pounce on every mistake. Dunstable Town also showed a lot of team spirit against Hertford Town. Despite going 0-1 down, Dunstable reset and won the game 3-1. This will definitely be the toughest challenge of pre-season so far as Dunstable Town prepare for the SSML Premier Division season ahead. It is a very tough league but Dunstable Town should be one of the favourites for a play-off finish and maybe more. Dunstable Town is a club going in the right direction and this season will be absolutely crucial.

Lincoln City had a decent League One campaign last season finishing seventeenth. The 20/21 season was definitely one to remember for Lincoln City as they made it to Wembley through the play-offs. Despite losing against Blackpool, there were lots of great memories from that season such as beating Sunderland on aggregate in the play-off semi final to get to Wembley. Over the years they have had some good players on their books. Brennan Johnson of Nottingham Forest spent the 20/21 season on loan with the Imps scoring 10 times. Harry Toffolo also currently at Nottingham Forest spent two seasons with Lincoln City, appearing for them between 2018 and 2020. The welsh international Joe Morrell also spent some time at Lincoln City. Lincoln City have been on the up for a while now and have had some great memories since being promoted from the National League.

A great game is expected at Creasey Park. Although the first team isn't expected from Lincoln City it will still be a challenge for Dunstable Town. Best of luck to both teams!
