A goal came in the 20th minute for the home side! It was Kane Smith who scored his first goal of 2022. Some nice control then a deflection got the ball in the back of the net for the Wood. Boreham Wood got closer again forcing Tony Thompson to pull of some great saves.
In the second half Boreham Wood really started going for the second and it finally came in the 57th minute when Scott Boden headed in from a lovely Kane Smith cross. This was his first goal since November when he scored a brace in a 4-0 win over Maidenhead United. Some more great chances for Boreham Wood and a few for Altrincham but a big penalty appeal for the Wood was turned down by the referee. There was one more big chance when Altrincham had there chance blocked off the line by Kane Smith. The game finished Boreham Wood 2-0 Altrincham.
Boreham Wood move up from 6th to 3rd as they leapfrog Bromley and Halifax Town. Altrincham move below Aldershot Town and fall to 18th. With Weymouth winning as well they were only 9 points from the bottom three.
