Bedford Town vs North Leigh pre-view!

Zac Neal

A enormous game at the Eyrie this weekend as Bedford Town host North Leigh. This is a massive one for many reasons. Bedford are currently top of the table by 3 points and have a game in hand over 2nd placed Berkhamsted. North Leigh are well and truly in the play-off race and need to get something out of the game to try and preserve it.

Bedford have been on an unstoppable run and haven't lost since mid-November where they lost to Berkhamsted. The reverse fixture was a great one for Bedford but not so much for North Leigh. Bedford ran out 1-4 winners at Eynsham Hall Park. Drew Richardson scored the opener for Bedford but this was cut short thanks to a swift equaliser from Roger James. Connor Tomlinson put Bedford back ahead and got his second around the 80th minute. Rene Howe finished the game off in the 88th minute by grabbing one for himself. North Leigh recently drew with Welwyn Garden City and Harlow Town. North Leigh have proven they can be lethal in front of goal as they put 7 past Kidlington at home. They are currently 5th and level on points with Welwyn Garden City and have played two more. They really need to start picking up points because if they don't it could prove costly. North Leigh will be well up for the game and will be looking to right the wrong's of the reverse fixture, Bedford on the other hand, will be fired up to win as if they did they could go as many as 6 points clear at the top as Berkhamsted face 3rd placed AFC Dunstable. Bedford will certainly have one eye on this game as it is 2nd vs 3rd.

Overall, this game will be a dent in one team's for season for sure it just depends who for. Bedford are the favourites and will be feeling boosted after beating local rivals Kempston Rovers away. North Leigh will be ready with a game plan and will be needing to execute it perfectly to come away from Bedford with a win.
